Statement

My art is a constant exploration of the structure of images, using diverse mediums such as drawing, painting, and sculpture to experiment with new dynamics and situations. As a B.A. graduate from SJSU in Creative Arts, I'm always guided by improvisational and intuitive gestures, as I seek to create work that's both unconventional and thought-provoking. While my pieces occasionally incorporate subjective or representational imagery, my primary interest lies in exploring minimal and maximal visual arrangements. My inspiration comes from a range of sources, including science, geometry, chaos theory, universal self-organization, figurative abstraction, music, and modernist mid-twentieth century art. Working in ongoing series of pieces, each with its own unique constraints and influences, I'm constantly pushing the boundaries of space and form, even if I don't always know where I'm headed.
